"Foreign war correspondent Tanner Thomas is addicted to living on the edge. Needing the adrenaline rush of his job to help him cope with a personal loss, he throws himself back into the game, concentrating all his energy on getting the next big story.

But when he meets his new photojournalist, Beaux Croslyn, he can’t help but feel like he’s losing his focus—and maybe risking more…

With secrets she won’t address, Beaux is far from your ordinary woman. Determined to keep her distance, she’s willing to pull Tanner in closer and hide behind the sparks flying between them. But as Beaux’s past begins to put their relationship—and their lives—at risk, Tanner’s determination to find the truth puts them both in jeopardy.

He's ready to chase her to the ends of the earth to find out if what they had was real, or if the danger surrounding them was just an exquisite heat fated to burn out…"

My Thoughts

"Sometimes what is right isn't always what's needed. Sometimes what's needed isn't always wanted. And sometimes you just have to live in the moment, take what's given, and sort out the consequences later."

One thing that I've learned from reading K. Bromberg's books is that once you read them, you are hooked. You are so knee-deep in Bromberg's greatness and writing it is impossible to come out.

Bromberg's story and plot and the way she delivers angst filled books is nothing short of amazing. The book titles... They sum up all of her to stories to perfection. If you want to know what the book is about or how you are going to feel while reading that book, just go over the title. Trust me, they speak for themselves.

Hard Beat brims with so much angst, it will make you grip your kindle/book so hard, you wouldn't want to let it go until finished. It will throw plot twist after plot twist and you will be able to do nothing but sit back and shout:

WTF?! WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?!

THAT'S NOT REAL!! THAT KIND OF STUFF JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN!!

HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?! HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO US?! HOW COULD YOU?!!

Yeah, my feeling were all over the place in the most amazing way possible.
This book literally takes you to your breaking point and when you think nothing can bad can happen or there is no scope for anything going wrong anymore, Bromberg throws one blow after the other leaving you reeling and breathless in its wake that it will leave you wanting more.

What's refreshing in about this book is that it is a first person narrative completely from Tanner's point of view. And you what? I LOVED IT! I loved being inside a male characters head throughout the book without any female perspective. And this! This is what made the book all the more engaging and interesting and mysterious.

Tanner... Mmm, he is sexy as hell and a complete walking contradiction. He is a complete alpha, protective, possessive and a whole lotta amazing. He has this amazingly sweet, softer, loving side to him, you won't be able to stop yourself from falling head-over-heels for him. If you've read the Driven Series (Driven, Fueled and Crashed), you know that Tanner is Rylee's older brother. And if you haven't read the series then shame on you! What are you waiting for? Go grab them now!

He is an amazing son, the voice of reason in the messed up world, a loving protective brother and a top-notch journalist. He returns to the Middle East, to get back to his reporting gig after losing his best friend of 10 years, Stella in an open fire. Those feeling and guilt that he was living with flared into over-protective beast mode when he met BJ Croslyn.

One night with her was supposed to be a temporary fix for Tanner. But everything goes haywire when Tanner finds out the 'BJ' is in fact his new photographer and parter, Beaux Croslyn.

The chemistry that burns between the two will fire up your Kindle with all the heat and passion.

Midst the harsh brash and dangerous world, Tanner and Beaux become each others source of comfort. A shooting that brings color to their never-ending darkness.

"A false hope is the worst of all kind."

Hard Beat spins your emotions like none other. Anger, sadness, happiness, passion, frustration but most of all Hope. Hope for two people who have gone through so much, yet never crumbled down under the weight.

Hope for something more.
Hope for something new.
Hope for something safe.
Hope for a haven
Hope for love. A once-in-a-lifetime love.

The writing so amazing and in detail, I could easily picture everything in my head like a movie.. And Oh! What a spectacular movie it was. Every nuance, every simple character quirk, every emotion, every situation, every feeling...

This book is yet another amazing book in Bromberg's transcript. She weaved a complicated story with such ease and so many beautifully poignant moments and dialogues.

It's one hell of a ride! One that you definitely need to take, sit back and enjoy at its fullest.
