Let's talk about heartbreaking reads, shall we?

Submission is Not Enough is a painful roller coaster of emotion, loss, and "forgotten" love. I have semi-permanent tear tracks on my face all day from this book. I can't tell you what started it, but I can tell you the waterworks were consistent and continually being fueled by Lexi Blake's intense writing.

The highs were soaring and the lows had me looking for chocolate and snuggles. I love when a book is so well written that you feel the pain, feel the love, and feel the utter chaos. Submission is one of those books. It's book 12 in an impressive series of alpha males, D/s lifestyles, and terrorism/spy stuff. (Yes, that's a technical description- spy stuff)

If you like former military alphas with a protective streak the size of Texas, then why haven't you one clicked it yet? Yes, hot and heavy it is, but the story is the real gem. Worth every page and I can't wait for the next one!

BOOK REVIEW ― Royally Screwed (Royally #1) by Emma Chase

"Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, aka His Royal Hotness, is wickedly charming, devastatingly handsome, and unabashedly arrogant; hard not to be when people are constantly bowing down to you.

Then, one snowy night in Manhattan, the prince meets a dark haired beauty who doesn't bow down. Instead, she throws a pie in his face.

Nicholas wants to find out if she tastes as good as her pie, and this heir apparent is used to getting what he wants.

Dating a prince isn't what waitress Olivia Hammond ever imagined it would be.

There's a disapproving queen, a wildly inappropriate spare heir, relentless paparazzi, and brutal public scrutiny. While they've traded in horse drawn carriages for Rolls Royces, and haven't chopped anyone's head off lately, the royals are far from accepting of this commoner.

But to Olivia, Nicholas is worth it.

Nicholas grew up with the whole world watching, and now Marriage Watch is in full force. In the end, Nicholas has to decide who he is and, more importantly, who he wants to be: a King... or the man who gets to love Olivia forever."

descriptionI was known before I was born and my name will be blazoned in history long after I’m dust in the ground. Infamy is temporary, celebrity is fleeting, but royalty…royalty is forever.

The first question that every reader asks another is: Was this book good? Is it worth the money?

The short answer for this is YES!!!
The long answer? Of course it is! Royally Screwed is the perfect blend of sexy, charming, romantic with a dash of sufficient humor that makes this book a perfect read! I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I signed up for this book. The only thing that I knew was the blurb and the author, who does not and did not disappoint with her new book.

Once you get pulled into the lavish royal world of the prince and princesses and parties, the only way for you to get out is when you finish the book. Emma has created a decadent world in this book, which is so utterly charming, it attracts you to it.

Emma Chase has undoubtedly delivered yet another fantastic read!

In a nutshell, in Royally Screwed Emma Chase has presents the rags and riches of the world —A modern day Cinderella, where Prince Nicholas is forced by his Queen to find a bride and that too not an ordinary one. No. There is a list of stipulations given by the Queen that the bride has to live up to, to even be considered. But before Nicholas can even get settled with this idea, he is to first bring his wayward younger brother back home from New York. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how one of the greatest Royal love story starts.

In New York, Nicholas comes across Olivia, who is beautiful, feisty, hardworking and has been all by herself for a very long time. She is also a commoner. Their start wasn't great but it was dam hilarious! Not knowing exactly who Nicholas was, she went toe to toe with him and always had a hilarious comeback for all his innuendos and then some.

But you know, you've got to hand it to Nicholas, he was persistent wherever Olivia was concerned and he eventually, and by eventually I mean a LOT of charm (there might have been kids involved), he broke her down and the first date happened, which I can attest to and say was just do Nicholas and Olivia!

What finally happened between Nicholas and Olivia was something beautiful, easy and very passionate. There were highs and quite a number of lows but these two held on... Until one of them snapped and their fairytale romance was shattered.

"Royalty is forever"
But is it worth the heartache? Worth the doubt? The sleepless nights wondering if it is for you?

descriptionIf you were told that the world as you knew it—life as you knew it—would end in five months, what would you do? You’d make the most of the time you had left, of course. Do everything you wanted to do—everyone you wanted to do—for as long as you could. Until time was up. Well…looks like I’ve got a plan, after all.

Harry, Simon, Marty and Franny. Every single character was a joy to read. I was and still am so in love with this modern day Cinderella. It is romantic, charming, decadent and all around an amazing read!

BOOK REVIEW ― Burning Bond (Holly Woods Files, #6) by Emma Hart

"BURNING BOND is book six of the HOLLY WOODS FILES series. While it can technically be read as a standalone, it's advised to read the first five books prior to this for full enjoyment.
Two men, both determined to protect me.
I think I love one. I’m almost sure I’m in love with the other.
Ride or die just got a whole lot realer."

descriptionYou should know by now I'd do anything for you. So, if you want me to fight for you, Rebekah Hough, then I hope he's got a fucking army ready and waiting. I'll fight for you, and you better believe I'm gonna fight damn dirty.

I'm going to keep this review short because otherwise... SPOILERS!!!

Holly Wood Files is hands down, literally one of my top favourite series and my top favourite from Emma Hart's collection. This series is sexy, mysterious and entertaining and Burning Bond is a fantastic addition to Holly Woods Files.

Regardless of the fact that the previous books are all from Noelle's point of view, Bek's story from Bek's point of view fits this series like a puzzle piece. Burning Bond well and truly lived up to my expectations.

The book had me hooked not only from the mystery that surrounded the murder but more so because of the mystery and anticipation in getting to know, who would finally Bek choose ― Jason or Brody.

Burning Bond like its predecessors, is utterly entertaining! All of my favourite characters, which is basically everyone in this series, come back and OMG Nonnaaaaaaaa!!!!!! She is probably one of the best characters I have read to date.

descriptionI want someone to look at me the way that Drake looks at Noelle. Like I'm the center of someone's world. Like I'm the point of their entire universe to orbit around. Like I'm home.

This story will keep you on your toes from the very first page. There is mystery and suspense and love and since it is a Emma Hart novel, there is bound to be lots of steam. I have loved every single moment of reading Burning Bond and I am really really really sad that this series is coming to end with the next book. Oh and yes! I HIGHLY recommend you picking up this series, if you already haven't.

BOOK REVIEW ― Black Swan Affair by K.L. Kreig

"I’ve loved him as long as I can remember.

The gangly boy with big brown eyes and unruly hair who grew up into an intoxicating man. He wears scruff like he invented it and ambles with a swagger that makes panties drop.

Killian Shepard.

We grew up together. We played Ghost in the Graveyard. Had our own rock band. It didn’t matter that he was five years older than me. It didn’t matter that he looked at me as a kid sister even as I grew into a woman. It didn’t even matter when he left me behind to go to college and start his adult life.

He’d be back.
He was always meant to be mine.

He came back, all right. But instead of smelling of promises, he stunk of betrayal. And he destroyed me—us—the day he married my sister instead of me.

So I did the only thing a girl like me in my position could do.
I got my revenge.
I married his brother, Kael.
Now we’re one big happy fucking family."

OMfreakingGoodness! I am now an unrepentant KL Kreig fan. I am ashamed to say this is my first K.L read. It's only the beginning. Holy Wow!

Intense, emotional, and downright nerve wracking! I literally could not stop for a bathroom, food, or phone break. I just spent the last 5 hrs (I read fast) ignoring my kids, my phone, and my body.

I can not, will not, share anything more than the blurb. This book had me on freaking edge the entire time. I had absolutely no idea which way this book would go. I had no idea but the longing K.L creates...You physically feel the pain and longing that Mav does as though it's your own. You will spend the entire book like a cheerleader begging for your personal happy place. You may or may not get it, but know this- it is one of the most intense journeys you will ever be on. I cried with Mav, for Mav, and for those whose lives were an utter disappointment.

Without a doubt on of the top five reads in 2016, with 476 books under my belt so far this year, that's a pretty big promise.

Impressive writing and THE FEELS, I have a headache for the crying and tears but also the tension. Black Swan Affair...just wow!

BOOK REVIEW ― Four Letter Word by J. Daniels

"Fate. Hate. Love. Lies.

Which four letter word will change their lives forever?

Sydney Paige was never so mortified to hear the words "wrong number" in her life. She meant to tell off the guy who broke her best friend's heart but unleashed her anger on a perfect stranger instead. And now her world is turned upside down by the captivating man who wants to keep her on the line.

Brian Savage is living a life he's quickly come to hate-until Sydney's wild rant has him hooked and hungry for more. Soon the sexy woman on the phone becomes the lover in his bed. But Brian has secrets, and the closer he lets Syd get, the harder it is to shield her from the devastating mistakes of his past . . ."

Rating & Review

descriptionBest two and a half weeks of my life came from a girl who was never meant to give me anything. And she was giving me everything.

Four Letter Word. The title is so well thought out and unique and creative in the manner it was woven into the story. I've only read a handful of J. Daniels' books and this certainly topped in the steamy category. Sorry Ben!
I absolutely loved the premise of the book. It was unique in its concept and in the way the title was interspersed in the story.

The book starts with Sydney starting a new phase in her life. A fresh story, that includes leaving her husband and moving in with her best friend Tori. A new story, a new job and new friends. The night she moves in with Tori, is the night the best friends learn that they have been burned by men in the worst way possible. And it was that night Sydney made an out of character decision, that not only turned her world upside down but was also the start of an amazing story.

descriptionIt was everything. From the start, from the first mistaken phone call, it was everything.

It all started with a phone call. A phone call to an absolute stranger because of a wrong number, turned into multiple texts and calls between Sydney and Brian.

The man on the other end of the phone, Brian Savage, is battling with his own demons that have plagued his consciousness for a while. His ray of light, in his otherwise darkness, is Sydney and her spit fire attitude which formed an unusual relationship and was the start of a friendship between the two.

I was waiting on pins and needles and holding my breath for the moment when Brian and Sydney would meet and J. Daniels did not disappoint! Their connection, even before they had met each other was very strong and when they did meet is was explosive! Literally!

descriptionOne word that held so much and sounded so loud, and if it was written, I could read it forever.

Brian is dealing with a lot of things at the same time. He hides a lot of things from his family, friends and Sydney and one secret that he is hell bent on telling anyone.

But we all know how the deep hidden secrets have the ability to pop up. When Brian's secret is revealed, it leaves behind heartbreak and destruction. But with all the pain came a moment for Brian, where he was free of the guilt he carried with himself and I LOVED that moment. It was the emotional climax and the beginning of things getting better for him.

Now, while I thoroughly enjoyed every minute reading this book, I was not satisfied with the ending. I wanted something more for Brian and Sydney in the end. The ending just felt a tad bit rushed. But since this is a series, I am assuming we will get a few peaks of Brian and Sydney life through the eyes of their best friends, Jamie and Tori.

Overall, this was a fun and sexy read and if you are looking for something that will make you flip pages then rest assured, this is the one!

descriptionI’m going to give you Wild for the rest of your life and so much of it you won’t have room to feel anything else.

COVER REVEAL ― Twined Bond (Holly Woods Files #7) by Emma Hart

All is well in Holly Woods. My best friend's love triangle is now a happy little circle. My sister-in-law just gave birth to my gorgeous new niece who is the world's best cuddler, and Nonna's not on my back every ten minutes about the fact we're getting married in one month. Supposedly. Until the mayor's niece—our baker for the wedding—commits suicide. At least, that's what the note says. My gut says we're talking a different kind of 'cide.' My gut also says I should stay well away, and in the interest of Drake's sanity, I plan to. But when life throws you an unexpected curveball... Sometimes the best laid plans need tearing up. Even if you don't mean to do it. Happily ever after... If Holly Woods survives this.

(Twined Bond is the seventh and final book in the Holly Woods Files series, and picks up roughly nine months after the end of Burning Bond. It cannot be read as a standalone, but may require tissues.)
