BOOK REVIEW ― For All The Evers by Debra Anastasia

"Fallen Billow should be in college like most of her friends, but instead she’s raising her brother and working as a housekeeper at a vintage local hotel. It’s back-breaking work, but not nearly as challenging as fending off unwanted advances from the hotel’s owner.

Thomas McHugh is fighting for our country, across the globe and decades before Fallen Billow was even born. So there’s no way they’re soul mates. There’s no way he can be desperate to see her, hold her, kiss her. Except there is.

Is it a dream when he inks his name on her skin? Is it a delusion when she puts her hands on his face and says she loves him? Nothing has ever felt more real.

Fate has etched paths for Thomas and Fallen that even time cannot touch. A Purple Heart proclaims Thomas’ valor and bravery. And his death. But Fallen dares to dream of the impossible. She wants Thomas to stay. Just stay.

A tribute to all who have served our country, this novel honors the impossible beauty of love and the endless power of hope. Come open your heart and celebrate the many facets of bravery with Fallen and Thomas. "

I know I'm a hopeless romantic but Debra Anastasia, you make me swoon. The story behind this novel is an endearing one and knowing the love and effort put into this book makes it that much more...Everything. But don't just take my word for it.

For All the Evers is a beautiful and heartbreaking story. A lost and world weary girl experiences something overwhelming and amazing. But she doesn't know why or how. She doesn't know if it's real or not. She only knows how special it is. With clues and outside help she begins to piece together the mystery of her love.

I have no trouble admitting the prologue had me choking up on the first page and the tears flowing by the time I flipped the page. I had tears running down my face repeatedly.

The feels...wow.
Heartache
Longing
Despair
Love

You will feel them all. But even stronger is the HOPE. I can't even begin to tell you how intensely I loved this book. So take pity on my previously broken heart and share the wonder that this story brings.

Excerpt

“I bet you were adorable.” He put his knuckle under her chin and encouraged her to lift her head. She rolled back over and settled against his shoulder.

“I don’t want to be adorable. I want to be impossible.”

“How do you mean?” He kissed her forehead.

“I want to be impossible for you to forget, impossible for you to keep your hands off of.” She leaned up for a kiss.

“You’re my impossible then. Have no fear.” He tenderly reminded her he was her impossible, too, with his lips.

She put her hand against his stomach and snuggled in. “This is my spot. Right here. With you—it’s home.”

He swallowed before talking to the ceiling. “My heart was like a fist. Where I am? It’s not a place you plan to survive. I’ve been there for years, and it’s not about skill; it’s not even about luck. You get strapped into a machine, and fate’s driving. You can’t get out even if you want to. So you submit to it. You harden your soul. You get ready to die.”

He shifted, rolling on top of her. She sighed in contentment. Being beneath him made her feel safe and secure.

He kissed her lips, then the tip of her nose, before continuing. “But with you, it’s like my heart’s opening up, and I’m terrified to feel, after all this time. Yet I don’t have a choice. No matter where I am, I draw your face whenever I get a scrap of paper.”

He laughed a little. “We found a puppy, and I named it Fallen, just so I could say your name over and over. The guys think I’m crazy—such a strange name for a dog. But I don’t care. I’m gasping for you every moment I’m awake. And I’m making choices to keep me alive through the week.”

His eyes searched hers. “What if I’m not as tough as I was in the beginning? God, I hope no one is affected by my distraction with this. But in the end there’s you. Only you. Do what you have to to get back to me when you’re awake. You have to. I need you more than air, more than life right now. The softness of you, the tenderness in your eyes when you see me. I’m trying to force fate to throw me in your direction. To hurl me at you somehow. I don’t know if it will work. But I’m praying for it.”

Fallen touched his face, then his neck. “I will do everything I can to find you.”

BOOK REVIEW ― Being Brooke by Emma Hart

"My name is Brooke Barker...
And I'm a freaking disaster.
No, seriously. I’m a college drop-out working a dead-end job, my best friend Carly’s dog gets more action than I do, and I have more bad dates in my diary than there are movie remakes.
Not to mention I'm completely and utterly in love with Cain Elliott.
The problem? He’s in a relationship. With a girl who’s so plastic she makes Barbie cry herself to sleep with jealousy.
The second problem? He's my best friend.
My shut-up-and-put-on-Harry-Potter, yes-this-is-your-shirt, help-I-have-no-power, crap-I’m-out-of-tampons, kinda best friend.
And that’s all he can be, right?
Right."

Hold the freakin' phone!!!!!!!!

descriptionYou’re so fucking random. Brooke. Seriously.
“Yeah, well, I don’t speak grumpy. I speak fluent sarcasm, bitch, and PMS.”

OMG!!! Oh god! I'm in pain! This is what I get for reading a book at the dead of the night when everyone is asleep. My sides hurt from all that restrained laughing. It was HILARIOUS!
Honestly, the female protagonist is me when it comes to the sarcasm department but otherwise, I'm pretty sure Emma Hart just put herself in a book and gave her a different name.

90% Emma + 10% me = Brooke Barker
Laugh out loud's, witty comebacks, sarcastic remarks, Being Brooke is the purest form of Romantic Comedy.

Told from Brooke's point of view and, life tips at the beginning of every chapter, which in all honesty my favorite part of the book, this book was utterly entertaining

descriptionRestraint isn't a skill I've ever learned—unless you count the fact I've made it just over twenty-four years and haven't been arrested for murder. With my temperament, that's worth celebrating. That's why I have birthday parties—to celebrate making it through another twelve months of dealing with assholes and not killing any of them.

Hot Sex? Zero.
Sexual tension? Nada.
Angst? Zilch.
Laugh-Out-Loud? Oh yes!
Sarcasm? Hell yeah!
Sass? Out of this world!!!

So if you are thinking you are going to get any hot monkey sex between Cain and Brooke, like it is usually the case in any Emma Hart book, you are in the wrong place. But if you want to read a book that will literally have you rolling with laughter, tears in your eyes and possibly hurting sides. Don't think! Just pick it up and get ready to laugh your ass off!

BOOK REVIEW ― Dark Surrender (The Dark Ones Saga #3) by Rachel Van Dyken

"I grew up as a prince...

And lead the life of a King.

There isn't anyone or anything that doesn't want me, that isn't attracted to me. They can't help it. And I sure as hell don't want them to. I live for their lust, I crave touch like an addiction, I make them beg on their knees for one, simple, caress.
As a male siren, it's my job to feed off emotion.
And I was happy to do it.
I am happy to do it.
What I'm not happy about? Being told I have to mate with some withering human and stay loyal to that one person for the next few centuries. There's a war coming and being the idiot I am--I offered to take one for the team in order to help a friend.
Now my sexual appetite is taking a freaking kick in the nuts.
And I'm left wondering if it's worth it.
If she's worth it, with messy hair and dirty human hands.
But I have a world to save.
A job to do.
Now, if only, she would just let me do it rather than fighting me at every turn. I've lived lifetimes as the most irresistible being on the planet.
Only to meet my match.
With one.
Measly.
Human.
They say hells hot. They're wrong.
Because Hope, my little human, is way hotter.
And before this is over--she may just singe me alive."

Rating & Review

Can you seriously fall in love with a vampire, a Dark One (or two), werewolves and a siren all at the same time? I know it sounds like the start of a lame joke, but the Dark One's Saga is no laughing matter. Although there are some ridiculous lines that will have you trying to hide your snickers and laughs if you are reading at work.

In each book, an immortal is tasked with mating to help make the race stronger for the coming war. Not bad right...except the whole potential for death and being stuck with someone you will never love.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

It seems Alex has decided to fall on his sword so poor Mason doesn't have to. But it might be the biggest mistake he has ever made because of life as he knows it will cease.

If you aren't a paranormal fan, I still think that you will enjoy the series. RVD has a way with writing that seems to have a demonic spell on it. Hmm, maybe it's her siren song! Alex must be a written representation of her cunning ability. Totally think that's true!!

Anyhow back to the awesomeness that is The Dark Ones, you don't have to be a paranormal fan, but if you are, watch out. The addictive nature and alluring words will wrap you up in a sweet caress and take your heart and soul with it!
