Cora Matthews grew up with the Adams’ boys, twin brothers and best friends who wouldn’t let anything come between them—except for her. One of them became her best friend; the other, her fiancĂ©.

She always knew she’d wind up marrying one of them, and Jacob Adams is the epitome of Mister Right. At least until he fails to show up for their wedding.

As Jacob’s best man, and identical twin, Matt makes a split-second decision that will affect the three of their lives forever—he steps in to take his brother’s place. In front of the altar, exchanging vows with the woman he’s secretly been in love with for years.

But Cora finds out about the groom swap. The morning after the wedding. As if realizing she just slept with her fiancĂ©’s brother isn’t disturbing enough, she’s forced to confront the feelings for Matt Adams she thought she’d buried years ago.

Through the course of her real honeymoon with her fake husband, she uncovers truths both Adams brothers were hoping to keep hidden, for opposite reasons. One to protect himself, the other to protect her.

She married the wrong brother, but what if he’s been the right one all along?

What we have here is a failure to communicate!  The opening of this book is the single craziest opening I have ever read. It sucks you in immediately and you have no choice but to find out what happens next. No choice but to enjoy this bumpy road to discovery.

Houston, we have a problem!  How do you rectify marrying the wrong brother? What if you don't want to? Why is this so crazy?

Twins, identical twins. Like double mint, double the pleasure, double the fun...ok maybe not double the pleasure or fun. Definitely, double the confusion! Knowing Jacob and Matt twenty years, with countless memories, and lots of love- it seems like Cora is in a bit of a pickle (and she can't blame it on the a a a a a alcohol)

Engaged to one but married the other! I'd say that is a unique problem with even bigger consequences. Two men, three lives, and a rocky future. Two professing love. But how many are proving it?

I found this book got my heart rate up and kept it up. With the crazy behavior, doubt, and disbelief in all that was happening, I have yet to crash.  It is crazy, fun, and hot all wrapped up with the unbelievable- yet completely plausible (because we live in a crazy world) premise.

Mister Wrong was all kinds of right. I loved every animal print, tux wearing, right vow/wrong man minute of it and you will too!

BOOK REVIEW ― Royally Matched by Emma Chase

Some men are born responsible, some men have responsibility thrust upon them. Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook, Prince of Wessco, just got the motherlode of all responsibility dumped in his regal lap.

He’s not handling it well.

Hoping to help her grandson to rise to the occasion, Queen Lenora agrees to give him "space"—but while the Queen’s away, the Prince will play. After a chance meeting with an American television producer, Henry finally makes a decision all on his own:

Welcome to Matched: Royal Edition.

A reality TV dating game show featuring twenty of the world's most beautiful blue bloods gathered in the same castle. Only one will win the diamond tiara, only one will capture the handsome prince’s heart.

While Henry revels in the sexy, raunchy antics of the contestants as they fight, literally, for his affection, it’s the quiet, bespectacled girl in the corner—with the voice of an angel and a body that would tempt a saint—who catches his eye.

The more Henry gets to know Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum, the more enamored he becomes of her simple beauty, her strength, her kind spirit... and her naughty sense of humor.

But Rome wasn’t built in a day—and irresponsible royals aren’t reformed overnight.

As he endeavors to right his wrongs, old words take on whole new meanings for the dashing Prince. Words like, Duty, Honor and most of all—Love.

descriptionWhat a strange pair we are. The sad boy and the frightened girl.

There are times when you pick up a book and have a lot of expectations from it and then there are times you pick up a book without any expectations but to simply see where the journey will take you. I jumped into Royally Matched without any expectations because, like I said, I wanted to see where this book would take me and boy did I have one hell of a ride!

Two words... MAGICALLY FANTASTIC! I mean, I thought Royally Screwed was good but it does not even come up to the feelings I had when I finished Royally Matched. Emma has outdone herself with Henry and Sarah's story. It was so sweet and sexy and pretty perfect if I do say so myself. Once I started, I just wasn't ready to put it down!

Henry Pembrook is used to living his life to the fullest without a care in the world. As the younger sibling, Henry didn't have the same responsibilities as his older brother Nicholas. Well, until Nicholas revoked his position as the future King and now Henry was thrust into the life of rules and regulations and looking after his country.

descriptionIf I’m supposed to be the Great Royal Hope for my country, we’re all well and truly fucked.

After a little mistake, Henry decides that he needs to get away from all things Royal. Staying on the outskirts of his country all alone, Henry is propositioned for a reality TV show Matched: Royal Edition and Henry jumps at this opportunity. I mean, with twelve ladies vying to be the queen what could go wrong, right? *taps fingers*

Enter Sarah Titebottum. Sarah is a shy bookworm who loves to keep to herself. She has two best friends and works at the library which she loves! Sarah's sister, Penny Titebottum is approached to be one of the twelve contestants in Matched along with Sarah and Sarah says no right away. But you see, Penny wants to go. Badly. This is her stepping one foot into the stardom of acting that she always wanted. And Penny can go only if Sarah goes to keep an eye on Penny and support her.

Every single thing about the TV show overwhelms Henry and before the shooting of the very first scene Henry tries to get away to get a reprieve from all the madness that was about to ensue and he meets the one person that understands and calms him down like no other. Sarah.
A chance meeting behind a tree at the top of the hill turned Sarah and Henrey life upside down in the most amazing way possible!

descriptionOnce upon a time, a pitiful lad met a shy, lovely lass and together they became something more . . . something strong and beautiful and forever. And one night he sang her a song, in a fantastic rickety old pub—a song with a question in it. And after he played the very last note, she said yes a thousand times.

I didn't think Emma could top Royally Screwed but love being wrong about these kinds of things. Royally Matched is utterly beautiful, witty and just the right amount of sexy. And you will adore Henry and Sarah together!

BOOK REVIEW ― Switch by Adriana Locke

Mallory Sims is late for her first day of work.

After spilling her tea, she discovers she has no gas in her car. Add that her arm keeps sticking to her dress from syrup left on the console of her car, flustered feels like an understatement.

Then she sees her new boss.

Graham Landry is the epitome of NSFW in his custom-fit suit, black-rimmed glasses, and a look so stern her libido doesn’t stand a chance. Being flustered is just the start of her problems.

Her punctuality is only the start of his. With a pink slip in hand, he’s been waiting on his new secretary to show up only to let her go. Then she rushes in with her doe eyes and rambling excuses, smelling like bacon and lavender. The termination paper falls to the side as she falls in his arms.

This is a disaster in the making. Not because of his pinpoint exactness or her free spirit, but because when they’re together, the sparks that fly threaten to burn the whole place down.

descriptionThere’s a kinky animal buried in those stuck-up suits of yours trying to claw its way out, isn’t there?

DAMN! Mallory has got that right! I've read about Barrett and I've read about Lincoln but there was always something about Graham and his calm and collected demeanor that always pulled me to him. Maybe it was the curiosity, the need to see what was under the polished suits and attitude and Locke hit it out of the park with this story.

Graham Landry is the brother who has everything planned to the T and always looks out for his brothers. I mean, his contingency plans have contingencies! Behind his pressed suits and business persona, Graham has always been a mystery.

But what his perfectly scheduled life didn't account for was his new assistant Mallory Sims and how she was going to mess up his entire orchestrated life. Mallory is having the worst start to her day. One accident after another she didn't make an impression on Graham. Well not at the Executive Assistant level, anyway.

Mallory is the complete opposite to Graham. Where he is systematic, she is all over the place. Everything on Graham's desk has its place whereas everything on Mallory's desk is all over the place. Graham is a clean freak, Mallory creates a mess wherever she goes.

descriptionI want to celebrate with my . . . girlfriend?”
“That’s so high school,” I laugh. Shaking his hand, he motions for me to take it.
“How do you plan on celebrating?” I ask, pressing my lips together. He wiggles his brows.
“I think we managed to do that,” I say, wiggling my eyebrows back at him, “out here last time, didn’t we?”
“Last time was different.”
“Why?” He grins.
“Last time you weren’t mine.” Swooning, I take his hand and let him lead me into the house.

The chemistry and attraction between Graham and Mallory were instant and their banter was equal parts witty and clever. These two were perfect together and gelled into each other's life perfectly. Mallory provided Graham with a security for him to be himself around someone else other than his family and Graham provided Mallory with a steadiness, order, and faith in herself and in her life that she so desperately needed.

Is there drama in the book? Yes. But it slightly permeated the story rather than overpower it with unnecessary drama. Otherwise, the whole book has a lightness to it that is one of the characteristics of the Landry family that I absolutely adore!

Also, how can I end this review without mentioning my absolute favorite scene from the whole book? There was this particular moment, where we get to read about Graham's back story and the reason behind his anal retentive ways and at that moment I wished so hard for Graham to be real because I wanted to just squish him and give him a big cuddly bear hug. It wasn't because the situation was really bad and huge but because he was so vulnerable at that time and there is something about seeing grown men who are always put together, removing the mask they put for the world to see and letting go and just being themselves and feel all the hurt and pain that they normally hide from everyone.

I can never get enough of the Landry boys but an alpha, dirty talking CEO who is vulnerable has my heart.

First came grapes.
Then came ice cubes.
Now comes the syrup... *wags eyebrows* Read the story to find out what I mean ;-)

BOOK REVIEW ― Lost In Between by KL Kreig

Lost In Between by K.L. Kreig

★ Buy Lost In Between (Kindle)
★ Buy Lost In Between (Paperback)

We all have one.

A price.

That magic number that will get us to agree to do anything, be anything.

Don’t sit on your gold-plated high horse and say you don’t because you do. Everyone does. Each of us has something we covet enough that we’d sell ourselves to have it.

What’s my tipping point, you ask? Apparently, a cool quarter mil will do the trick.

What does one do for 250 large, you wonder? Anything the infamous, gorgeous playboy of Seattle wants. For the next four months, I’ll be Shaw Mercer’s arm candy, his beck and call girl, his faux girlfriend. I’ll be his to command, mold, push and pull in any direction he sees fit.

I’ll fight falling into bed with him. I’ll fight falling in love with him even harder. I’ll fail at both. And when my past and present collide in the most unexpected of ways, I’ll learn that while one man’s love for me has never died, the only man’s love I really want will never be mine.

Some books offer you a break.
Some offer an escape.
Others give you friendships.
Bring you a family you never knew you wanted.
But then there are the ones that ruin your life!

Okay, maybe those are harsh words...I said maybe. Maybe I thought (foolishly I admit), that this would be the sweetest most uncomplicated book in the world. Nobody would think that this is KL Kreig, drama and twist are her middle name. I'm positive.

Okay, you aren't reading this to find out that I contemplate stalking KL further to obtain book two because if I were to say that it would be premeditated and then the police might have a case for my accidental sit-in in her kitchen. So hypothetically speaking, if I were to find her kitchen and sit/chain myself to it, it is purely coincidental. (wink, wink)

You want to know what my problem is. What has got me so riled up? Why this book is ruining my life?!?!

This book!!!! Seriously, the gentle seduction. The lure. The tease of a story you know will never unfold exactly how you want it. You feel the fingers of desire gently tracing your collar bone. You can't help but succumb to the lust in his eyes. The feel of whispered filthy words across your skin.

Then BAM out of nowhere you are hit with the end ( coughs *for now, *). The teasing Temptress, aka the author, has lulled you into your perfect blessed out orgasm face only to shove you out the door without your clothes on. So yes, this frustratingly well written, bone-deep aggravating, the Machiavellian twist of a cliff hanger has me panting just shy of climax.

Will I tell you? Nope, the blurb says it all. But I will say that the shameless plugs had me giggling. The first chapter actually had me twisted my head in confusion because well...I've read that before...

It's just...squeeee! Ugh, she did it to me again. KL Kreig has me twitching in sheer frustration, desire, and glee. This story will hold you hostage and keep the tension high. You won't be able to put it down. If you are anything like me, it's going to be 5 PM and you will have played hooky and still be in pajamas. Hypothetically speaking of course ...

So if you need to take one thing only out of this craziness I call therapy, I mean a review, it's that this book should already be in your hands.

BOOK REVIEW ― A Thousand Letters by Staci Hart

Sometimes your life is split by a single decision.

I’ve spent every day of the last seven years regretting mine: he left, and I didn’t follow. A thousand letters went unanswered, my words like petals in the wind, spinning away into nothing, taking me with them.

But now he’s back.

I barely recognize the man he’s become, but I can still see a glimmer of the boy who asked me to be his forever, the boy I walked away from when I was young and afraid.

Maybe if he’d come home under better circumstances, he could speak to me without anger in his voice. Maybe if I’d said yes all those years ago, he’d look at me without the weight of rejection in his eyes. Maybe if things were different, we would have had a chance.

One regretted decision sent him away. One painful journey brought him back to me. I only wish I could keep him.

description A shot of adrenaline is all it takes, triggered by a thought. A word. A memory. And every time the reaction is singular, a fingerprint of a moment. Sometimes it’s a flutter, a flicker of wings in your chest. Others, it’s a relentless vise that stops the beat, if only for a second. It might be a hot burn, spreading like wildfire in your ribs, or an icy cold space, empty and void. But the heart always reacts.

It is said that beauty breeds in chaos and this story is exactly that. The story is a beautiful chaos of what could have been and what if's. The chaos of a love story that ended way too soon but the burning embers still flickered in the hopes that it will be ignited once again.

This story is chaotic.
This story is beautiful.

This story is heavy with emotions that run rampant from the very first page and grips you and doesn't let you put the books down until you witness the heaviness that coated the pages turned into a lightness and a happy ever after you were holding on the hope for.

A Thousand Letters is easily one of my top favorite book of 2017 and another fantastic addition to the super angsty Second Chance Romance. This book was perfect and I wouldn't change one single thing about it.

descriptionLife is short, so short, so precious, every minute, every day. Don't let the people you love, the people who make you happy, the people who bring you joy —don't let them go. Hang on to them, even when it hurts. When it seems impossible. Hold on to the things that breathe life into you. Listen to your soul and honor what it tells you. Live. Fight for what you love.

Elliot and Wade. They are perfect for each other. Their love knows no time, space and boundaries. They never stopped loving each other, even when they left on bad terms and didn't speak to each other for years.

There are sunshine and rainbows in this love story. There is pain and hurt, and loss and so many things left unsaid that are waiting to come out from both, Elliot and Wade.

I adored every minute of this book and I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a read that is high on emotion and all about love, loss, and second chances.
