BOOK REVIEW ― Swear by Adriana Locke

Ellie Pagan has a list of reasons to stay away from Ford Landry.
It’s a mile long and was so much easier to stick to when he was a world away. Now that he’s standing in front of her—body hard and chiseled from a stint in the military, suit cut to perfection, and a smirk she could never resist—remembering all the reasons why just got a whole lot harder.
Ford gets Ellie isn’t his biggest fan. He just doesn’t care.
Standing in front of him, giving him hell, she’s even prettier than he remembered. All he can think about is how she felt in his arms, the taste of her kiss, the sound of her giggle in the middle of the night. He may not know how to win her back, but he does know this: he may have let her go once, but that’s one mistake he won’t make again.

1. be overcome with admiration, adoration, or other strong emotion.

Synonym: Ford Landry

descriptionHe’s Ford. He was my first love, my first everything, to be honest.

A love that spans a decade, Swear is built on the memories of the shared past which were filled with love, laughter, special moments and a heartbreak that two people who never got over it.

A second chance romance, I especially loved how Locke wrote this without the typical tried and tested methods. Ford and Ellie are fully developed characters individually, two wholes if you may, and when they are out together, they create something that is so uniquely them. They are at that point in their relationship that the other Landry boys will take years in reaching. It is not "young love", it is a love that, even though was on the back burner in both their lives, has festered over the years and only grown in leaps and bounds.

descriptionI love you,” I whisper to him, my hand finding the side of his face.
“I’ll love you for the rest of my life.” He grins.
“Pinky swear?”
“Pinky swear.”

Since the inception of the Landry Family Series, Adriana has given us characters that I have loved whole-heartedly. Sure I love some more than others but I love them all something fierce. What can I say? Each of them is special in their own ways, you just can't help it.

It has been fun to dive back into the Landry family because this bunch, even though so different, gel so well with each other and are so tight-knit and are a force to be reckoned with, and it is a pleasure to see them all come together as one.

Bringing in all the elements — a love that spans a decade, wit, banter, family, understanding, and togetherness — and combining them makes Swear is the perfect light read. On top of that, I loved how Locke brought together all the four — Barrett, Lincoln, Graham, and Ford — love stories together and wrapped them up with pretty little bows, leaving room for the two youngest Landry siblings to be explored and find their true loves and Happily- Ever- Afters.

BOOK REVIEW ― Tycoon by Katy Evans

He wasn’t always this rich. This hot. This difficult.
Aaric Christos was a guy who protected me. Wanted me. Maybe even loved me.
That man is gone.
In his place is the most powerful real estate tycoon in the city.
He’s a cold, ruthless, aggressive businessman.
The only one who can save me and my startup from ruin.
It takes every ounce of courage to put my pride aside and ask for his help.
I didn’t expect him to offer it easily.
And he doesn’t.
Instead, he vets me harder than he’s vetted anyone.
Don’t invest in what you don’t know, he says.
He's assessing every piece of me, to the point I've never felt so bare.
I yearn for the boy I once knew, whose touch once craved me.
Putting it all on the line will be worth it, I tell myself.
Until I realize—too late—that some risks are not worth taking.

SQUEEEEEE!!!! Katy Evans never fails to amaze with her books! Tycoon was exactly what I had hoped for it!

description...Aaric, the boy from my past who’s no longer just a boy, and no longer just in my past. He’s very much a man , very much in my present.

Over the years of reading Katy's books, I've realized is that you can never go wrong with her. Her writing style always hooks you in, no matter what the story and leaves you always wanting more at the end. Tycoon, even though is quite different in a lot of ways from her previous books, has everything — the steam, the passion, the wit and boatloads of angst!

Christos and Bryn are two wholes, that when put together create something new, something that is them. Christos is broody but there is a different kind of air to him when comparing to Remy or Malcolm. Coming across as untouchable to the general public, Aaric has a lightness to him that makes him more approachable and un-god- like. Bryn is the complete opposite of him. She is a dreamer, carefree and the perfect correspondent to Aaric.

The one thing that these two share are at the crossroads in life where they are at. Bryn is at a point in her life where Aaric was in his younger days and Aaric is at that point in his life where Bryn was when she was younger.

Like I have already said, there is boatloads of angst and believe me when I say there is more than enough to go around that and which will keep you on pins and needles and you won't rest until you finally see them get their Happily Ever After.

description I start to kiss him back with all the passion I kept hidden for so many years. This man kissing me is the only man who makes me nervous. Makes me babble. Makes me afraid. Makes me excited. Makes me want. There are the kinds of things that you don’t choose— they just happen, sometimes with people you don’t want to react to as fiercely as you do. Christos has always been mine. My what if, and also my why him.

Now onto the notable difference that sets Evan's previous books and Tycoon from each other and that is immediately noticeable is that Aaric is not like Evans' previous heroes and there are dialogues. Lots and lots of dialogues.

If you are an avid Katy Evans fan you know that Katy does fantastic monologs and that has always been a focus but this time our hero is not the silent type. He talks and he acts on his emotions and feelings. Evans' heroes have always been the silent and broody type and have an energy that seeps through the pages when you read about them. You can actually feel the shift when she focuses on the male leads. Aaric is tad tamer but in the end, he is still an Evans Hero so he is bound to evoke some really strong emotions and make you swoon and hope that he was real *sigh* and makes you keep turning the pages and THAT is what I love about Katy's writing.

BOOK REVIEW ― Ruckus by L.J. Shen

They say that life is a beautiful lie and death a painful truth. They're right.
No one has ever made me feel more alive than the guy who serves as a constant reminder that my clock is ticking.
He is my forbidden, shiny apple.
The striking fallacy to my blunt, raw, truth.
He is also my sister's ex-boyfriend.
One thing you should know before you judge me;
I saw him first. I craved him first. I loved him first.
Eleven years later, he waltzed into my life, demanding a second chance.
Dean Cole wants to be my bronze horseman. My white knight has finally arrived. Hopefully, he isn’t too late.

They say the brightest stars burn out the fastest. They’re right.
She sets my mind on fire.
All smart mouth, snarky attitude and a huge heart.
In a world where everything is dull, she shines like fucking Sirius.
Eleven years ago, fate tore us apart.
This time, I dare it to try.
Getting to her is a battlefield, but man, that’s why they call me Ruckus.
Rosie LeBlanc is about to find out how hard I can fight.
And conquering her will be the sweetest victory.

Rating & Review

What makes you feel alive?
Reading a book. A book that is full of angst, drama, passion, love, steam and every little thing in between so that when you turn the last page it was totally worth reading it.

Picking up Vicious was one of the best decisions I've made at the beginning of the year and in my Blogging history.

descriptionHe wasn’t Sirius. He was planet Earth. He was oxygen. He was everything.

The second book in the Sinners of Saint series, Ruckus was a much awaited after I finished reading Vicious because two words... DEAN. COLE.
He seemed to be the kinder and sweeter and more perceptible to emotions than the rest of the HotHoles but in this, you see a whole new side and a whole new story about the fun, laid back, life-of-the-party stoner that he so well hid from everyone, including his three best friends.

Rosie LeBlanc has loved Dean 'Ruckus' Cole since the first time she laid her eyes on him at the age of 15. The only thing stopping both of them from being with each other — Dean dating Rosie's sister, Emilia.

description You were always the one , Rosie. Before you even opened your goddamn mouth, I knew that I had to have you. And it took me a long time, but now that I own you — and let there be no mistakes, you’re mine, baby — nothing will come between us, get it?

Jacob & Rachel
Earth & Sirius
Ruckus & Rose
Dean & Rosie

These two have been waiting a long long time to be with each other but time is not on their side. Will Rosie's life debilitating illness claim her life as soon a she get her, much awaited and wanted, happily-ever-after with the man she has loved all her life?

Rosie and Dean are two characters whose personalities correspond so well with each other. The chemistry, the banter, the character and every small element makes this book an absolute fun and pulling read that grasps you into and it; making for a story that will be talked about after the last page has been turned.

This book is made of angst, drama, chaos, passion and everything sweet and spicy and swoony and I highly recommend you start this series.
